Thomas William Lamb was born in 1910 in Gelston, the eldest son of Thomas (a gardener, born Gelston) and Amelia (from Ropsley). Driver Lamb (2181529, 1 Boring Section Royal Engineers) died in France during the retreat to Dunkirk, 27 May 1940 age 30. He was buried in Les Moeres Communal Cemetery.
